Brush High School Art Students Collaborate with Local High Schools

Brush High School Art students are collaborating with local high schools to start a new tradition. On December 1st, eleven Brush students joined eight Chagrin Falls students and four students from Shaker Heights High School for a Saturday morning drawing session. Chagrin Falls High School Art teacher, David King, hosted the first Advanced Art Invitational Figure Drawing Workshop. Art teachers Sarah Curry from Brush High School and Dan Whitely from Shaker Heights High School were present to coach students as they drew live, costumed models supplied by each school in attendance. Teachers are currently scheduling the next Invitational as a means for students to continue this dialogue, swap ideas, and learn from one another’s unique perspective and techniques.

Brush students that were willing to sacrifice their Saturday morning for the sake of art include: Dante Williams, Kiairah Williams, Lauren Smith, Bridget Seibyl, Christal Mull, Erin Lee, Hannah Imel, Kostyantyn Gavrylyuk, Angela Caraballo, Colton Allen and Kylie Demkowicz (pictured).  In addition, thanks to our Brush model, Maleah Beckham.
