Brush Alumni Association’s Legacy Gallery, 1865-1970 to be Dedicated to Board on Tuesday, December 11, 2012

The devotion of the Brush Alumni Association and their commitment to the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools will be demonstrated on Tuesday, December 11, 2012. The Brush Alumni Association will be dedicating the Legacy Gallery, 1865-1970, to the Board of Education at the Board Meeting being held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Administration Building located at 5044 Mayfield Rd in Lyndhurst. The Legacy Gallery is a collection of cleverly arranged photos of the history of our school district that now hang in the hallway of the second floor of the district administrative offices building. Included in the dozens of photos displayed on the wall are ones of old school buildings, past educators in the district, and athletic and other student organization arrangements.

“We desired to preserve the energy and kindness of so many educators and administrators in the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools,” said long-time Alumni Association trustee and graduate, past educator and administrator in the district, Jim Makee (Class of ’60).

A team of five individuals helped to lead the efforts on behalf of the Brush Alumni Association, including Makee, his wife, Linda Meredith Makee (’60), Dave Chilson (’65), Thom Treer (’65) and Ms. Candy Clemson, former faculty member.

The sight of so many properly placed pictures in such fine and artistic fashion is a striking display, and the alumni association proudly encourages people to attend the dedication at the regular board meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012.
