Two Brush Students Named Semi-Finalists for Study Abroad Program in China

Following in the footsteps of Brush High School senior Eric Hruska, who received a full scholarship to attend the 2012 National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) summer camp in Shanghai, China, two more students from Brush's Chinese class have been selected as semi-finalist to receive the full scholarship to participate in eight weeks of a study abroad program in the summer 2013 offered by NSLI-Y.  Please congratulate Yehosef Brown and Nicole Vavro for this achievement.

This summer camp program is a highly competitive program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.  NSLI-Y is part of a broader, multi-agency U.S. government initiative launched in 2006 to improve America's ability to engage with people from around the world.  In addition to the U.S. Department of State, the Department of Defense, the Department of Education and the National Security Agency offer a number of language-focused programs under the NSLI umbrella.
