Brush High School Art and Photography Students Collaborate for Community Art at Euclid Creek Bridge
Brush High School AP Art and Photography students were able to make their valuable lessons and talents in the arts an official part of the community-at-large, as a group of our very own SEL students colorfully painted a continuous mural on the concrete wall over Euclid Creek Bridge this week. Armed with oversized stenciling and paint, the mural began to come-to-life on the north side of Mayfield Road, just east of the South Euclid branch of the Cuyahoga County Library. The project was initiated after months of the Art Classes’ collaboration with the City of South Euclid to create the Euclid Creek Bridge Public Art project, appropriately entitled “Walks of Life,” and the awarding of $1,000 grant from the Legacy Foundation to help finance its cost. In all, several dozen students will have participated in this project upon completion, and the Art and Technology Department’s hope is that a project such as this will lead to other collaborative opportunities to create and display public art!
