Adrian Scholars Meet Newest Member of South Euclid K-9 Unit

A dozen student members of the Adrian Scholars club recently had the opportunity to spend time with South Euclid Patrol Officer Michael Fink, and meet his newest K-9 partner, Kolbe. The visit took place after school on Thursday, March 13th. Officer Mike, as he is affectionately known by the students, is a frequent visitor to the group and is always accompanied by his K-9 partner. After the recent passing of K-9 Officer Rex, the students were eager to meet the newest member of the South Euclid K-9 Unit, K-9 Officer Kolbe. During the visit, Officer Mike showed the students how K-9 Officer Kolbe locates dangerous or illegal substances hidden within containers by his strong sense of smell. The students also had the opportunity to try on different pieces of police gear, including a helmet and protective vest. To view footage of Officer Mike’s most recent visit, click here.

Adrian Scholars is an after school program for third grade boys, and is designed to “educate, inspire and empower students to be high achieving, contributing members of a global society.”

The South-Euclid Lyndhurst Schools wish to thank Officer Michael Fink for his continued involvement with the students at Adrian Elementary.
