Brush Advances to State Auto Skills Competition

Brush High School will be represented at the Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills State Hands-On Competition on Thursday, May 8, 2014, as it was one of the top performing schools on the written exam portion of the contest.  The Arcs will be represented by Dan Urda and Ronny Shelby, who received the highest test scores on the exam.  The 2014 state level competition will be held at the AAA East Central Offices in Independence, OH, and will require each team to apply their classroom knowledge by identifying and fixing several repair issues on a test vehicle.  Each team will be evaluated based upon their ability to complete each repair quickly, while also demonstrating a high degree of workmanship.  The winning team and instructor will earn an expense-paid trip to the national finals in Dearborn, MI, June 8-10, 2014.    Sponsored by Ford Motor Company and AAA, the competition was established to encourage students to pursue careers as automotive service technicians.

The South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools wish Dan Urda and Ronny Shelby success as they prepare for the upcoming state competition.
