In Honor of Black History Month, Brush High School Students Read to Adrian Elementary Students

Black History Month, celebrated throughout the month of February nationwide, permits Americans the opportunity to recognize the achievements of African Americans in our everyday culture, and nowhere is that acknowledgement more prevalent than in our public schools. Such was the case earlier this month, where Black History Month presented the opportunity for some of our high school students to engage with our elementary students in a collaborative and meaningful way, to honor this occasion. During the week of February 25th, Brush High School students traveled to Adrian Elementary School to read short stories to celebrate Black History Month. Best put, this engagement not only paid respect for the occasion of celebrating stories of African American achievement, but the method, older students with younger students, made the occurrence all the more meaningful. Thank you to all who participated!
