With a record twenty-eight pieces of scholastic art and writings being accepted into this year’s art exhibit, Brush High School students have demonstrated an inspiring accomplishment among peers in the region for the arts. Nearly twenty Brush High School students produced the works of art, which are currently on display at the Cleveland Institute of Art until February 2, 2013. The pieces will be judged at the current regional level, and “gold key” winning pieces will move on to be exhibited in New York City and presented with honors at an awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall this spring. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in a near century-old awards recognition, which includes alumnus such as Andy Warhol, Truman Capote, Robert Redford and John Lithgow, and for 90 years has worked to identify the early promise of our nation’s most exceptional visionaries.
