Brush Sophomore Awarded First Place in NAACP ACT-SO Competition

Brush sophomore Jordan Windham recently won first place in the Visual Arts Photography category at the NAACP ACT-SO (Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics) local competition. The award winning black and white photograph is titled “Your Move.” The ACT-SO is a national, year-long youth achievement program designed to recruit and promote academic and cultural excellence among African-American high school students, and features twenty-nine competitions in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), business, humanities, performing, visual and culinary arts. As a first-place finisher, Jordan will join a select group of students from across the country, and receive an all-expenses paid trip to compete at the ACT-SO National Competition from July 14-17, 2016 in Cincinnati, OH.

The SEL Schools would like to congratulate Jordan on his first-place finish and wish him continued success at the national competition this summer!
