Students from Brush High School and Greenview Upper Elementary School took home top honors recently at the annual regional competition of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission Oratorical Contest, held at the Lee Heights Community Church last week. In the Intermediate Division, the SEL Schools were represented in fine fashion by Adrianna Steiner who earned First Place, Alexander Riccuiti who finished in Second Place and Maddie Levenson and who took home Third Place. In the Senior Division, Brush High School participants finished strongly as well, and included Kayla Ayers who finished in First Place, Jasemine Jackson-Winston who earned Second Place and Kenyon Spotts who finished in Third Place. For these individual students’ performance, they each will have the opportunity to compete in the statewide competition which will be held in April 2016. The SEL Schools would like to congratulate these individuals for their hard work and their overall performance at this most important competition, which seeks to ensure the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who so courageously promoted brotherhood among all people.
