Orchestra Visits Playhouse Square

SEL Orchestra Director, Kristina Baric, took her high school orchestra students on a wonderful field trip to the Idea Center at Playhouse Square. Students visited the studio and had the opportunity to listen to great music and hear two holocaust survivors speak about their experience. The chamber ensemble "panoramicos" performed a piece entitled "I remember" which is based on the diary of Anne Frank. Students witnessed the ensembles performance as well as in depth stories of the survival of the two guests, Mimi Ormond and Roman Frayman. The interview took place with The Sound of Applause host, Dee Perry from 90.3 NPR. This concert was held as a part of the violins of hope exhibition currently taking place at the Maltz museum of heritage. Violins of hope is curated by Lynn Goodman and this concert was facilitated by Mary Kay Robinson.
