Mayor Welo Visits Rowland
Mayor Welo Visits Rowland

A first grade class at Rowland Elementary School recently hosted a very special guest to present an award and to spend some time with its students to support a very generous cause. City of South Euclid Mayor Georginne Welo visited Ms. Santarelli’s class last week, to officially declare them the winners for raising the most money in a contest to accumulate funds for students who cannot afford books.

Encouraged by the Rowland PTA to bring in “pocket change,” students throughout the building gathered the funds that will ultimately be used to help purchase books. Ms. Santarelli’s class raised the most money and was rewarded by the Mayor’s visit. While there, Mayor Welo read a Berenstain Bears booked called, “Mama for Mayor”.  Afterwards, the students discussed the responsibilities of being Mayor.

Rowland Elementary PTA thanks Mayor Welo for making another special visit to the school building, congratulates Ms. Santarelli’s class for raising the most money for this special cause and expresses its gratitude to all who participated.
