Memorial Students Inducted into National Junior Honor Society

Twenty-five 7th grade students from Memorial Junior High School were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society on Thursday, May 1st. Fellow students, school faculty and family members attended the event, which was held in the Old Gym. In order to qualify for induction into the National Junior Honor Society, each student had to consistently display five specific characteristics during their school career at Memorial, including citizenship, service, leadership and character.  The induction ceremony featured a pledge of membership, followed by the Traditional Candle Lighting Ceremony. The event also featured special remarks by Brush Senior and accomplished student Brandon McGhee, who described his school experience since graduating from Memorial Junior High School. As part of their membership requirements, the newly inducted National Junior Honor Society members must maintain a high grade point average, as well as complete twenty hours of volunteer service in their school or community during the 2014-2015 school year. Congratulations to all of our new National Junior Honor Society members for their hard work and dedication!
