South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools Congratulates the Class of 2014

The Charles F. Brush High School Class of 2014 was honored on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the regular commencement ceremony of the South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools, which was held at the glorious Palace Theatre in Downtown Cleveland. The evening was filled with a splendid combination of moving speeches, candid emotion and an ultimate sense of completion for our graduating seniors. The Class of 2014 was addressed in a unique and powerful message performed by Valedictorian Luke Wittke and Co-Salutatorian Morgan Mackay, who in back-and-forth manner at two separate podiums, spoke about pursuing dreams, helping others and the work involved in life. Matthew Smerglia, the district’s other Co-Salutatorian also spoke to the audience with words of encouragement at the outset of the ceremony. The words of ancient moral philosopher Confucius were intertwined in the evening’s overall theme as well, who wrote about the will to win, the desire to succeed and the urge to reach one’s full potential. Superintendent Linda N. Reid along with Board President, Lisa Marko addressed the Class of 2014 as well, and wished them encouragement for their respective futures.
