Memorial Junior High School Students Experience EXCEL TECC Program

Memorial Junior High 8th graders participated in an extraordinary experience as each had the opportunity to tour the Excel TECC program, located at Mayfield High School. EXCEL TECC, a career technical training program that offers more than two dozen opportunities to students in nine school districts, including SEL, provides students with real-life work force training in a variety of fields, including media and creative design, medical, business management and Computer IT. Memorial students had a chance to visit and speak with over 20 students in 8 different programs to ask questions and engage in activities.

Some students hammered nails while visiting the construction technology table while others created arts and crafts with volunteers from the Early Childhood Program and even had the opportunity to dress in fire fighter gear with the students of the Fire/EMS Training Academy. Students gained valuable hands-on experience and learned more about what great options are available them during her junior year at Brush High School.
