Brush High School Track and Field Teams Take NOC Lake Titles

Brush High School Boys and Girls Track and Field teams won their respective 2015 Northeast Ohio Conference Lake Division Championship meet on Wednesday, May 13th, at Byers Field. The Lady Arcs’ conference championship came down to the 4x400 relay, which they ultimately won in a close race. The girl’s team entered the meet with an overall 4-1 record in dual meets. The boys’ team, entering the championship with a dual meet record of 5-0, battled the entire meet with Normandy, but brought home the conference championship as well. Combined, both teams won 14 individual/relay champions and 35 top-five finishes.

Top individual performances were given by senior Asya Reynolds, a Michigan State Track and Field recruit, who won meet MVP and all four events (High Jump, Long Jump, 100/300 Hurdles) in which she participated. Reynolds also won meet MVP at Gilmour’s Miele Invitational this past Saturday and the Bill Dodd Invitational in March. Fellow senior Kierra DeBase won four events (100, 400, 4x100, and 4x200) to help keep the Arcs in contention. The Arcs won three of the four relays during the meet to help propel them to victory in the end. Junior Jai Dixon swept both hurdles’ events of the day winning the 110 Hurdles with a time of 15.40 and holding off a late challenge in the 300 hurdles to win with a time of 40.8. He was also a member of the second-place 4x100 relay and the third-place 4x200 relay. Fellow junior Austin Scott was also a member of both the winning relays, picking up a win in the 100 (11.4) and second in the 200 (23.6).

Congratulations to the Brush High School Boys and Girls Track and Field Team on their victorious season thus far.
