Adrian Races and Wins!
Adrian Races and Wins!

On Saturday, May 9th, Adrian Elementary School hosted its first ever “Mother’s Day 5k and 1 Mile Walk", which was inspired in part by a district core belief that SEL Schools must focus on the social, emotional and physical needs of student.  Over two hundred runners and walkers from South Euclid, Lyndhurst and surrounding areas came out to show their support by battling the heat and pavement for a chance at winning a medal! Spectators browsed the more than two-dozen tables hosting community vendors and churches including Garfield Church, Bethany Covenant and Mayfield Church. Children enjoyed face painting, a balloon clown and a DJ with a dance team!   The out pouring of support from students, staff, families, community members, local business and churches helped make the event a huge success.  Donated items included food, water, fruit, granola bars and gift cards.  A special thank you to Mayor Welo for her donation of a gift basket. Adrian earned $6,440, surpassing projected fundraising goals! Proceeds will be used for future technology purchases for Adrian students.

A big thanks to all who volunteered, sponsored, ran, walked, donated and attended!
