Bike Rodeo Update

As part of the SEL Schools’ participation in the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program, the district’s 2nd annual Bike Rodeo will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Greenview Upper Elementary School. This Bike Rodeo is a fun and dynamic way by which families of students in grades K-8 can promote the importance of biking as a healthy habit and reinforce lessons about safety and wellness. All students must be accompanied by an adult and refreshments will be provided. The Bike Rodeo is put on by the staff of the South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools, in partnership with the police departments of the City of South Euclid and the City of Lyndhurst.

When families ride to the event, or bring their bikes, they will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun stations, including a bike decorating station, a traffic safety station and partake in a bike raffle. In addition, an obstacle course will be open from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and a BMX show will begin at 11:45 a.m. This all is made possible by the Safe Routes to School grant that the participating cities and the South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools was awarded through from the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Special thanks goes out to our partnering vendors who all made donations, including AVI Food Systems, Coca-Cola, Eddy’s Bike Shop, Giant Eagle, Target and Walmart. You can click here to register.  Please be advised that in order to be eligible for door prizes and the raffle, you must be registered by Wednesday, May 27, 2015. The event will take place rain or shine. Please plan to attend this annual Bike Rodeo on Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
