Superintendent Reid Meets with Local Business Leaders
Superintendent Linda N. Reid met with six members from the local business community on Friday, October 14th to introduce and discuss the Arc Business Partnership. The new program is designed to create a stronger, mutually beneficial relationship between the SEL schools and the local business community. By partnering with the district, local businesses can help support students with financial assistance to provide them with opportunities to pursue academic achievement through scholarships, event sponsorships and contests. In return, the district will say “thank you” and help participating businesses receive additional exposure to the school community through a variety of ways, including recognition in the district newsletter and on the district website. In addition to the Arc Business Partnership, Superintendent Reid provided attendees an overview of the district, including its Strategic Plan, academic and co-curricular opportunities, commitment to financial responsibility and recent investments towards improving classroom learning environments. Attendees were also given the opportunity to engage in a Question and Answer Session with Superintendent Reid and provide feedback through a participant questionnaire.

The SEL Schools would like to thank everyone who attended the Arc Business Partnership Meet and Greet, including Yvonne Sanderson from Focal Plane Photography, LLC, Karen Schaefer from the Heights-Hillcrest Regional Chamber of Commerce, Ann Tisch from Hillcrest YMCA, Karen Poelking, Vice-President for Board and Community Relations at Notre-Dame College, Ann Randall, CPA and Stacy Ward-Braxton from The Significance Group. Stay tuned for more info regarding the Arc Business Partnership in the future!
