August 2015

· Football assist with the 19 Action News and Ohio Savings Bank Operation Backpack campaign

September 2015

· Brandon Adams had a breakout performance in 42-36 overtime loss to Perry. Adams ran for 334 yards in the game on 31 carries

· ESPN Cleveland broadcast live from Korb Field for the Strongsville game

· Athletic teams participated in the Lyndhurst Home Days Parade

· Former Arc Christina Toth (Cleveland State) named to the Dayton Flyer Invitational

· Boys Soccer Brett Gordon named Cleveland Jewish News Player of the Week. Gordon had two goals and four assists in a five game stretch to start the season

October 2015

· Five High School student-athletes attended the 2016 OHSAA Foundation Leadership Conference at The Ohio State University

· Football defeats Eastlake North on Homecoming night behind big game from senior Austin Scott

· Brush inducts first athletic hall of fame in 15 years by inducting 14 individuals and the 1985 state runner-up baseball team led by Jim Humpal

· Jai Dixon was named News-Herald Player of the Week after piling up 183 yards on four kick returns including a 94 yards TD Return

· Girls Soccer wins first tournament games since the 2007 season, defeating Euclid 4-2

· Boys Soccer won their tournament opener over Willoughby South on a Bryce Gordon goal in the 91st minutes. They have now won four straight tournament openers

· Michael Baio advanced to the Regional Meet for the second straight year

November 2015

· Former Arcs and current John Carroll XC standout Beck Rohwer finished third at the Ohio Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships held in Berea, Ohio. She also earned Academic All-OAC honors with a 3.65 GPA in biology

· Boys Basketball named one of the 10 Sleeper team in Northeast Ohio for the 2015-2016 season by Prep Hoops Ohio

· Junior Tyrone Chambers named first-team AP Northeast Lake All-District. Senior Jordan Overton named second-team

· November 18 marked the official open house and opening ceremony for the new 6,000-square foot ArcFit Training Center. The crowd of around 250 people was addressed by Superintendent Linda N. Reid, Principal Karl Williamson and Athletic Director Mike Murphy

· Group of student-athletes attend the first-ever WRC Leadership Conference held at Mayfield High School. Keynote speaker was Rick Metzger

· Boys Basketball attended Northeast Ohio Media Group Media Day

· Northeast Ohio Media Group selects Boys Basketball to win Western Reserve Conference and rank them #25 in preseason poll

· Wrestling program (7-12) had the opportunity to attend the Cleveland State-Ohio State match held in Woodling Gym

· Girls Basketball open the season with a resounding 50-23 win over neighborhood rival Cleveland Heights led by Arielle DeBase with 18 points

· Tyrone Chambers earns Division II All-Ohio Special Mention honors

December 2015

· Boys Basketball program assist with after school basketball program at Julie Billiart School

· Boys and Girls Swimming teams sweep the Bedford Relays

· The week of December 11, three athletes were named Player of the Week by Cleveland.com, Julie Kiefer (Girls Swimming), Chris Schmidt (Boys Swimming), and Montel Toney (Bowling)

· Former Arc Alfonso Onunwor commits to continue his football career at the University of Idaho after playing at Coffeyville CC in Kansas

· Sophomore Micah Levey finished fifth place (our of 240 bowlers) at the Eagle Challenge

· Boys Basketball participates in the Lebron Classic held at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron. The Arcs played Pickerington Central and Akron Buchtel in the event. DJ Dial and Tyler Williams won Game MVP honors and were awarded a pair of LeBron’s latest shoes.

· Matt Shlonsky, tragically killed in Washington DC in August, has his No. 5 hockey jersey retired to wall of Cleveland Hts. Ice Arena during alumni game festivities

· Wayne Findley finishes in fourth place (195lb) at the Kenston Invitational Tournament

· Boys Basketball falls in championship game of Brush Holiday Boys Basketball Tournament to Gilmour. However, the Arcs won the JV Division of the tournament led by Darrell Blanton

January 2016

· Wrestling host first-ever Dual Tournament in Welser Gym. Midview won the event defeating Cleveland Heights in the championship match

· Freshman DJ Dial named News-Herald Player of the Week after earning All-Tournament honors at the Brush Holiday Tournament, scoring 34 points in two games on six 3-pointers

· Boys and Girls Swimming both finish fifth in inaugural conference meet held at SPIRE. Boys led by 200 Freestyle Relay second place finish and sophomore Oliver Wenzler second place in the 100 Backstroke. Freshman Julia Kiefer finished fourth in the 100 Butterfly

· Wayne Findley (Third) and Nolan Washington (Fourth) make podium at Mateucci Tournament held at Eastlake North

· Bowling host first ever Invitational tournament at Freeway Lane in Wickliffe. Girls bowling finishes runner-up to North Olmsted. North Olmsted also won the boys tournament

· Arielle DeBase named News-Herald Player of the Week following 30 points, 23 rebounds, and eight assist in two wins against North and Madison. She was N-H POTW as a sophomore

· Girls Basketball improve to 10-6 on the season with 20 point win over Mayfield, 63-43.

· Boys Bowling finished as runner-up at the G-Men Classic. Seniors Mike Taddeo and Montel Toney make All-Tournament team

· Girls Basketball cracks the News-Herald Top of the Crop at No.10 and proceed to defeat ranked Chardon that night, 41-36

· Hockey defeats Garfield Heights, 11-2 to snap 33-game losing streak. Same night Boys Basketball defeats South to take over first place in the WRC

February 2016

· Former Arc letterwinner Jeff Rice and Lyndhurst resident Jeff Rice is selected as the umpire on the officiating crew for Super Bowl 50

· National Signing Day is held in the Performing Arts Center headlined by Jordan Overton committing to SUNY-Buffalo and Jonathan Ayala to Walsh University

· Freshman DJ Dial is featured in News-Herald article about “Young PGs lead area into the future”

· Wayne Findley continues his podium collection with runner-up finish at the WRC Championships held at Madison

· Girls Bowling finishes as runner-up at the WRC-GCC Conference Tournament held at Freeway Lanes, boys finish in fifth place

· For the third time in four years, Boys bowling qualified for the District Tournament with a third place finish at Sectional Tournament. Senior Clayton Eason wins the Lake County Sectional Tournament with a 620 series

· Girls Bowling qualifies for the first time in school history with a third place finish at Sectional Tournament held at Wickliffe Lanes

· Girls Swimming finishes seventh as a team at Sectional Swim Meet held at SPIRE. Overall, Boys 200 Free and Medley Relays team advance to District Meet along with Chris Schmidt, Julia Kiefer and Oliver Wenzler in individual events

· Clayton Eason named News-Herald Player of the Week following Sectional Championship victory and team advancing to districts

· Girls Basketball falls to Shaw in Sectional Tournament game, finish 15-16 season with 14 wins, the most in seven years

· Boys Basketball falls to Madison in overtime thriller, losing opportunity to win WRC Championship. South would go on days later to capture first league regular season title

· Wayne Findley (Second) and Trechane Shanklin (Third) reach podium at Sectional Tournament and advance to Mentor District Tournament

· Ryan Dugan is hired as the new Fitness and Wellness coordinator for the district

· Junior Amanda Arth qualifies for state tournament in Columbus

· Senior Matt Kornet and Tim Arth are chosen to play in the GCHSHL All-Star game at Quicken Loans Arena

March 2016

· Senior Rob Bearden and Freshman DJ Dial named to the Division I All-District team

· Rob Bearden is selected to play in the News-Herald All-Star game

· Jasmyn Allen-Rugley and Jai Dixon qualify for State Indoor Track meet held at the University of Akron, Dixon would go to fifth place finish in 60 Hurdles

April 2016

· Jordan Overton plays with the Stars & Stripes Football team in the Global Ambassador Bowl in Germany

· Softball puts together a five game winning streak midseason, longest such streak since 2009

· Seven student-athletes signed their Letter of Intent to continue their athletics careers in college. Event was held in the Performing Arts Center

· Jai Dixon named Running Events MVP at North Ranger Relays

May 2016

· Jai Dixon, Jasmyn Allen and Quentin Woodall qualify for Regional Meet held at Austintown-Fitch

· Jai Dixon earns his second consecutive trip to State Track Meet in the 300 Hurdles, he broke the 27 year old school record with a time of 38.14

· Jai Dixon won Running Events MVP at Gilmour Miele Invitational

· Tyrone Chambers named to JJ Huddle Top 100 Ohio Football Prospects, he is ranked as the #57 player in the state of Ohio

· Head Swimming Coach Brett Spicer will step away to spend time with his family, he just completed his 13th season in the program as head coach with over 75 career wins

· Varsity Baseball extended their streak to nine year of winning at least one OHSAA Tournament game by defeating Madison

· Alum Demarris Winters is named Girls Basketball Head Coach

· Michigan State Athlete and alum Aysa Reynolds places fifth in the Big Ten Outdoor Championships Heptathlon, breaking the Michigan State school record

· Seniors Danae Scoville and Tim Arth are selected to play in Ohio Varsity Baseball and Softball All-Star Games

· Athletic teams participated in the annual South Euclid Memorial Day Parade

June 2016

· Jai Dixon competes at the State Track meet on June 3rd at The Ohio State University. He doesn’t qualify for finals with a time of 39.75. He finishes his career with two state appearances and two school records

· Tre Shanklin competes in the News-Herald Senior Bowl and Jai Dixon takes part in the Greater Cleveland Football Coaches Association All-Star game

· Welser Gym hosts Summer Basketball Shootouts for Notre Dame College and Ursuline College
