Brush Junior Eric Hruska has been awarded the 2012-13 National Security Language Initiate-Youth (NSLI-Y) scholarship. Eric is among a select group of high school students selected for this highly competitive scholarship based on demonstrated ability to meet the challenges of a rigorous overseas program. The NSLI-Y Scholarship, sponsored by the Government of the United States of America through the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, in collaboration with the University of Delaware, will allow Eric to study the Chinese language in Shanghai,China this summer. The theme of this year’s summer institute is “Cultural Diplomacy - Gateway to Understanding Contemporary China”, with a special emphasis on China’s sociocultural, political and economic transformations.
