For the third year, Greenview teachers Kim Walden Maria Zoul treated fourth graders and staff to a dog agility demonstration. They set up the course in the baseball field and run the course with Kim’s black lab Emmitt and Cooper, her Labradoodle, and Maria’s golden retriever Angelina, a golden retriever. They also performed some basic obedience demonstrations with the dogs.
This event was a reward assembly for the end of the year. Kids with highest behavior points got to walk the course, reset the jump bars if they fell during the runs, and fluff the shoot that the dogs ran through. The agility course consisted of many jumps, a chute, a tire jump, a dogwalk, 12 weave poles, and a tunnel. The dogs each ran the course with the handler directing them to the correct obstacle.
