Brush seniors Jewel McCurn and Michael Wolf have qualified to participate in the National Junior Horticultural Association (NJHA) Contest held during the annual NJHA Convention. Jewel and Michael, both participants in the Excel TECC Environmental Education program, will compete with fellow NJHA contestants from across the nation in hopes of winning a national award. The city of San Diego, CA will host the NJHA Convention on October 7-10, 2011.
The National Junior Horticultural Association is a national program dedicated to youth and horticulture and the development of skills and knowledge in the art and science of horticulture. Participation in NJHA is open to anyone between the ages of 5 and 22 and is attained by participation in any NJHA project or activity.
