State Representative Marlene Anielski presented third-grade students and teachers at Sunview Elementary with an award to acknowledge the school's "Excellent" rating from the Ohio Department of Education on Tuesday, Sept. 22. This year marks the sixth consecutive year that Sunview received this prestigious designation.
For a school to be rated "Excellent," 75 percent of its students must pass the reading and math sections of the Ohio Achievement Assessment (OAA), a 2 and 1/2 hour test that evaluates students' mastery of the Ohio Core Standards.
The school must also rank high on the state's performance index, which factors how well students achieve.
Approximately 85 percent of Sunview third graders passed the reading section and 89 percent passed math.
We're so proud of all of Sunview's third-grade students and teachers. Keep up the great work!
