Nineteen Rowland second-graders recently participated in a Math-a-Thon to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, one of the world’s premier cancer centers. Together they raised $942 in support of this worthy cause!
The Math-a-Thon allows students to practice essential math skills while raising funds for children battling cancer. Participants solve math problems in a printed or online Funbook, while family and friends serve as their financial sponsors. All donations are then sent to St. Jude’s, where no child is ever turned away because of a family’s inability to pay.
Rowland’s Math-a-Thon participants are listed below. The top three performers are marked with an asterisk to indicate at least $100 in donations:
* Charlotte Hantus
* Illianna Levenson
* Emily Parks
