Shoot for the Cure Raises $1,100
At Memorial Junior High, students competed staff against in the Shoot for the Cure Cancer Awareness basketball game. In order to the game, students had to donate $2. The game raised $1,100. The money will be donated to the American Cancer Society in the honor of one of a current Memorial student who is battling cancer.
The MAC Scholars also helped to raise awareness about cancer. During halftime, the members educated the audience about the different cancer awareness campaigns by wearing the colors associated with those campaigns.
