True Hero, Inc., a Cleveland-based, non-profit organization, awards grants to students and schools for doing good work in their communities. If there is a club, group or organization at Brush that is doing community service work, this is an opportunity to support their service and showcase their projects. A total of $20,000 will be given away June 30, 2011 to help fund school service projects. Awards are granted to those student community service projects receiving the MOST eligible votes from the general public during the current school year at www.truehero.org.
Three Ohio high schools won grant money in the 2009-2010 contest: Hamilton Township High School, Shaker Heights High School, and Roosevelt High School. It’s easy to participate!
To help support and showcase your school’s service project(s), just follow these steps:
1) Go to www.truehero.org and post a project…all you need is a short paragraph/description.
2) GET VOTES for your service project.
3) Come June 30th, four grants will be given at high school level to the top four high school vote getters.
Not only do you have the opportunity to gain funds to support your service project, but while encouraging people to vote, you also make the entire school and community aware of the good work your students are doing.
