SE-L Hosts African-American Read-In to Celebrate Black History Month
Both libraries at Memorial Junior High and Brush High School hosted an African-American Read-In to help celebrate Black History Month. A read-in is a coordinated event in which various community members are brought to together to share in a book, written by an African-American author. This year, Memorial librarian Lisa Hubler and Brush librarian Kristine Robenolt invited young adult author Sharon Draper to meet with students to discuss her work and how it has affected them. The students were excited to have met Ms. Draper and share their joy of reading with her.
