Rowland students had a lot to celebrate on Friday, May 6. Teachers kicked-off "Right to Read Week" with a Dr. Seusss-themed assembly. The week-long event will take place next week.
Students also learned that, together, they raised more than $750 dollars to help the victims of the tsunami in Japan. The money will be donated to the Red Cross. To help raise funds, students donated $1 for every teacher they wanted to get a pie in the face. The teachers with the most donations, were chosen to get pied. At the same assembly, select students had the opportunity to throw a pie in a staff member's face.
