Dear Brush Families and Friends,
Welcome to the
Charles F. Brush High School link of the SE-L web page. Brush
High School is a superb school to attend. The school consists of
a wonderful student body and faculty, while being supported by
an involved community. Brush High School was founded in 1927,
and has continued to do an excellent job guiding, supporting and
educating the students of the South Euclid and Lyndhurst
communities.
BRUSH HIGH
is long hailed for its contemporary approach to education. A
4-year, comprehensive, North Central Association (NCA)
accredited high school, Brush has a growing diverse enrollment
of 1,716 students. A broad program of studies reflects the needs
of students, including advanced placement, alternative school
programs, transitional programs, plus opportunities for weekly
mentorships and month-long Senior Projects with adult
supervisors. Technical education is offered in more than a dozen
areas, including “tech-prep” courses that after high school
transition to pre-establish advanced study.
THE SCHOOL
DISTRICT serves the
communities of South Euclid, Lyndhurst and a portion of Richmond
Heights. It is located eleven miles east of Cleveland, Ohio.
Well known for its family values and immaculate neighborhoods,
the well-established communities that comprise the SEL School
District equally support and promote education, athletics and
the arts. This calm community consists of approximately 50,000
people who represent the true make-up of America. About half of
the parents within the district are college-educated and hold
professional or managerial positions.
THE BRUSH
FACULTY is a diverse,
dedicated and talented group of educators who are actively
involved in teaching and participating in a variety of workshops
and college courses in addition to their high school classes.
Faculty members welcome new innovative ideas, strategies and
techniques to their classroom. They promote learning by
supporting and collaborating with teacher-interns and student
teachers, and often team with colleagues to provide integrated
curriculum for students. The South Euclid-Lyndhurst School
district has been named a Teacher Education Center by Cleveland
State University and pioneered the Teacher Intern Program with
John Carroll University. The faculty consists of 105 certified
professionals, 61% of who hold advanced degrees. The average
teaching experience is 10 years.
