GVUE Student Places First in MLK Oratorical Contest

Congratulations to Greenview Upper Elementary student Taylor Wynne, who earned first place in the MLK Oratorical Contest in Cuyahoga County. Taylor’s accomplishment allowed her to travel to Columbus recently where she placed first once again! Next up for Taylor is to join Governor Strickland on January 14, 2010 in the statewide MLK celebration at the State Capital. We are so proud to have Taylor representing not only SE-L Schools but Cuyahoga County in this honorable endeavor. What an accomplishment!

Dear Greenview Families and Friends,

The administration, teachers & staff are excited to welcome you to the Greenview Upper Elementary School home page and link to the SE-L web page. It is our hope that you will find information here that will make your experience at Greenview productive. Greenview is an upper elementary school currently servicing 4th, 5th and 6th grades. Greenview’s Mission is to give students educational experiences that help to develop responsible citizens, promote academic excellence, and develop the interests and talents of each and every child.

The Greenview staff is dedicated to creating a professional and safe learning environment. This process begins by creating a structure based on the Ohio Academic Content Standards. Our well trained and professional staff blends their creativity and experiences with those of the students to help build positive relationships. By setting high academic and social expectations for students, we promote educational success, good citizenship, and nurture the skills and knowledge needed to be life long learners.

Parents are an integral part of the educational process. We encourage involvement in your child’s educational process and support of our curriculum at home. We hope that you continue to read and do homework with your child every night. We believe that communication between home and school is vital to the educational process. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s classroom teacher or the office if you have questions throughout the school year. All parents are encouraged to become members of the PTA. PTA provides additional resources for our students and social events for our families.

Greenview has many changes in store for the upcoming school year. As we proceed through our transformation, rest assured that we will continue to strive for academic excellence, social and emotional growth, and service to the community. We look forward to watching the students grow academically and socially throughout the year.

Greenview Upper Elementary will continue to offer a variety of programs which we believe will enhance the academic progress of our students and help them become well rounded, productive citizens. We encourage you to have your student participate in as many activities as possible.

We hope you enjoy navigating our website. It is full of very important information, which may vastly improve your child’s experience at Greenview Upper Elementary School as we strive to “Bring out the Best in Each and Every Child”.

Should you have any questions regarding the educational programs that we offer, please feel free to contact me or plan a visit to Greenview in the near future. We look forward to developing partnerships with parents in order to create a school with focus, purpose, and commitment to excellence. We hope that we can work together to make sure that our Strong Schools continue to help make Strong Communities.

Sincerely,
Reginald B. Holland
Principal – Greenview Upper Elementary School
