Dear Memorial Junior High Families:
My name is Matthew Bryan, and I am excited to share that I have been named the next principal at Memorial Junior High School! I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to work with such exceptional staff and students, and look forward to continuing the excellence that has been established at Memorial Junior High School.
To provide you with a little bit of information regarding my educational background, I am originally from upstate New York. I relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina when I took my first teaching position as a high school civics and economics teacher for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Distirct. As a teacher, I completed my National Board Certification for Adolescent Social Studies before I began my transition to school administration.
Upon relocating to Ohio, I was a part of the Aspiring Principals Cohort for the Cleveland Metropolitan School Distirct. I then transitioned to the Maple Heights City School Distirct where I served as a principal of their 4-5 building for 3 years. During that time, I participated and completed the First Ring Leadership Academy. Most recently, I have been principal for the Streetsboro City School District for the past 2 years. Additionally, I recently completed my superintendent's licensure.
My wife, Erin, is a 5th grade teacher for the Kenston Local School District. We have two sons: Landon, 6 and Dylan 4. For those who have young children, you certainly know how busy and active they can be!
As we progress towards the school year, I look forward to continuing the positive relationships that have been built at Memorial Junior High School and pushing our students to academic success. Please be on the lookout in the near future regarding additional communication as well opportunities for us to connect on social media platforms.
Please stay safe and well during these times!
