The South Euclid Lyndhurst School District is dedicated to preparing students for a globalworkforce requiring 21st Century skills. Over the next several years, teaching and learning will be transformed through student utilization of digital resources and 1:1 (one-to-one) digital devices to provide a more personalized learning experience. An increase in online formative assessments will be used by teachers to select resources and activities based on students' identified needs, thus allowing all students to meet or exceed grade level standards and become college and career ready.
The 1:1 program will provide each student in grades 1-12 with a District owned Chromebook to use each school day. The Chrome books will be issued within the first month of the upcoming school year. The most important responsibility for each student will be the care of his/her Chromebook. We recommend that each student bring headphones/earbuds daily to help utilize digital tools and resources. Your child will be responsible for the care and safe-keeping of the assigned Chromebook during the school day. Any costs associated with the repair or replacement of the Chromebook and/or charger due to student abuse, vandalism or neglect will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
If your child's Chromebook is not working or needs repair, he or she should inform their teacher immediately so that it may be submitted for repair. Your child will be given a loaner device and our technology team will assess the problem, and determine a repair cost if deemed appropriate. Listed below, you will find repair and replacement costs related to an individual Chromebook.
Bottom Cover - $30
Camera - $25
LCD screen -$44
Keyboard/track pad (if not repairable) -$83
Power brick -$20
Total Replacement -$205
