Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Learning Resource Center teacher Ms. Cathy Stang, students at Adrian Elementary School had the opportunity to obtain donated new grade level books to read and enjoy during Winter Break. Beginning the Week of December 7th through Thursday, December 17th, families stopped at the school to browse and pick out free books for their student. Ms. Stang is passionate about promoting literacy and student interest in reading and regularly devotes time to writing grants to obtain free books for students at Adrian Elementary. Through an ongoing partnership with First Book, a non-profit social enterprise, Adrian has received over 50,000 donated books valued at over $500,000! Best of all, students can choose to keep any of the books which are donated! Thank you, Ms. Stang for your efforts in helping our students embrace the gift of reading!
