First grade remote and in-person students at Sunview Elementary School took an opportunity to get into the holiday spirit by creating a variety of items for the Lyndhurst Meals on Wheels program. Under the direction and initiative of First Grade teacher Karen Darnell, students were prompted to develop Thanksgiving cards and homemade table mats for participants of the program which helps supply a meal to those in need. Mrs. Darnell infused her passion for helping others into her very own students, a noble cause, and also one of kindness and compassion. During such unprecedented times, the students’ hope is to warm the hearts of many of the participants who may be limited in their visitations and ability to see others during the holiday season. Thank you to the First grade teachers and students at Sunview Elementary School who creatively, and caringly helped to think of others first, this holiday season.
