The last days of winter may have brought windy, cold weather, but Sunview Elementary enjoyed the cozy, relaxed atmosphere of a summer evening while hosting the Camp Read S’More Family Literacy Night event on Tuesday February 25th. K-3 families wore their favorite pajamas or comfy clothes and participated in a variety of camp-themed activities throughout the Sunview “Campgrounds” which celebrated literacy and the importance of spending time together. While in the gym, families enjoyed a Make Your Own S’More station, hot dogs and other refreshments. After dinner, families participated in two of three available literacy sessions which they selected ahead of time. The sessions included S’More Literacy Activities, How to Choose a “Just Right Book” and a workshop on how to prepare your child for the State AIR tests. Laughter and smiles were all around, as families enjoyed a relaxing evening together. Thank you to all participating Sunview families for making this year’s Family Literacy Night a success!
