7th Grade Math Classes Utilizing Video Lessons

During the extended school closure, students in the SEL Schools have stayed engaged through online learning. Each week, our dedicated teachers are developing engaging and creative lessons which meet every student’s unique learning needs. At Memorial Junior High, 7th Grade Math teacher Mr. Jeffrey Adick is creating video lessons to teach math concepts that are aligned with the District’s curriculum and state learning standards. In a recent video lesson on percent-based problems, Mr. Adick used multiple cameras and video editing techniques to create a split-screen format. One side featured a math problem from Delta Math, an online learning platform used by students that provides real-time feedback and step-by-step directions on how to solve assigned problems. The other side of the screen displayed a notepad for Mr. Adick to write out and explain each step of the problem-solving process. In addition to learning, Mr. Adick also uses the video technology to connect with his students by including a personal greeting and displaying some of his favorite Arc Spirit Wear in the background. The SEL Schools would like to thank Mr. Adick and all District teachers for their continued dedication on behalf of our students.
