Friday, October 2nd, we EMAILED A FORM to you regarding our return to school.
We are actively planning for the safe return of students with the start of the second quarter in November. If you did not receive the form, please check your spam, clutter, or “junk” email folders. Please call 216.691.2063 if you did not receive the email. Form Deadline: Friday, October 9th by 4:00 PM.
In a similar process in July, SEL parents and guardians declared their preference to begin the 2020-2021 school year – School Based or Virtual. Of course, unexpectedly, all students began the school year in remote learning. It is time to transition to our original plan as reflected in SEL Schools’ Responsible Restart Plan.
It is our desire to honor all commitments declared in July 2020. Therefore, if you chose SCHOOL BASED on the online form in July, it is documented. Likewise, if you chose VIRTUAL on the online form in July, it is documented.
However, it is necessary to reaffirm declarations since the parents and guardians of NEW students arriving after the deadline in July did not have the opportunity to declare their preference. While we understand things may have changed for you and your family since submitting your declaration in July, honoring original commitments is important since School Based instruction must follow specific COVID-19 precautions, including 6ft of social distance.
However, we are requesting feedback from all parents and guardians to prepare for the second quarter of this school year beginning in November 2020.
To be clear, the form you received Friday, October 2nd , is NOT a new declaration.
