Sixteen 8th graders from Memorial Junior High School visited Cleveland Clinic Courts, practice facility for the 2016 NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers, to meet the team’s Executive Chef, Terry Bell, on Tuesday, April 30, 2019.  All the participating students had expressed an interest in pursing a culinary arts career on a recent College/Career Survey. Principal Dominick Kaple surprised the students with the news of Mr. Bell’s invitation to provide a tour of the Cavaliers’ team dining area on Friday, April 26th.  During the tour, Mr. Bell shared about his day to day responsibilities in cooking breakfast and lunch for players to enjoy when they are at the practice facility, in addition to preparing meals for team road trips.  Mr. Bell also took time to answer students’ questions and share about the education and training required to work in the culinary arts field.  Students, along with Principal Kaple, Brush Varsity Basketball Coach Chet Mason and Assistant Athletic Director JC Collins, finished the tour with a delicious lunch in the team dining area.  A big thank-you to Mr. Terry Bell for helping our students explore real-world career opportunities.
