In the spirit of the holiday season, first-graders at Sunview Elementary recently spread love and kindness to the greater community by creating Thanksgiving placemats for the local Meals on Wheels program. The first-grade classrooms for Mrs. Zelinka, Mrs. Grist, and Mrs. Bloom created colorful placemats which featured hand-colored cutouts of a turkey with utensils on either side, and a “Happy Thanksgiving” greeting written across the top. Once complete, Mrs. Zelinka delivered the placemats to the Lyndhurst Community Center, where they were delivered with sixty-six Thanksgiving holiday meals on Wednesday, November 24th to grateful residents. Thank you to the Sunview first-grade students and staff for their creative efforts to brighten the Thanksgiving holiday for our community!
