Athletic Department Additions

The South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools would like to formally congratulate the following individuals on officially being named the new Athletic Administrative team for the district. Jamar Ross will serve as the new Athletic Director at Charles F. Brush High School. He brings with him 22 years in athletic administration from the collegiate level, most recently as an Associate Athletic Director at Cleveland State University, and also at Rutgers University and Norfolk State University. He’s very much looking forward to helping Brush’s coaches and staff develop well-rounded student athletes, both on and off the field, and become The Destination Athletic Program. JC Commander will serve in the capacity of Assistant Athletic Director and is no stranger to athletics in the South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools. JC brings more than 20 years of coaching experience to this position, primarily as a high school football coach and most recently serving the district as the middle school football coach. For the last decade, he has worked in education in the SEL Schools, and he greatly values the opportunity he will have meeting the challenges of helping student-athletes mature into successful adults with sports as the vehicle.  Rick Bloom has also been hired as the Athletic Department secretary, serving the very high school from which he graduated in 1980. Rick played baseball at Brush High School under the legendary Jim Humpal and has served the athletics department as a public address announcer and helping to keep the community apprised of the awesome accomplishments of our Brush student athletes. Going forward, Rick hopes to continue the promotion of access and opportunity to our student athletes, engage the community in the review of regular program offerings and procedures, coordinate with the district’s community partners and emphasize sportsmanship, healthy lifestyle habits and safe environments. The South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools congratulates this newly assembled Athletic Administrative staff and looks forward to the excitement and continued enthusiasm with its athletics program. Go Arcs!
