MJH Student Council Car Wash Fundraiser

Car Wash

Congratulations to the Memorial Junior High School (MJH) Student Council on hosting a phenomenally successful car wash fundraiser after-school on Tuesday, September 28, 2021! Working together in teams, students washed and dried off a steady stream of cars from supporters, including parents, district staff and community members. The students’ hard work was rewarded as the they far exceeded the initial fundraiser goal of $250.00, raising an outstanding total of $1,033.00 in donations! The donated funds will help to support a variety of activities and initiatives planned by the students. During the month of October, MJH Student Council will sponsor a door decoration contest featuring a theme of “Boo to Drugs” in observance of National Substance Abuse Prevention Month. The winning class will enjoy a pizza party with their Intervention/Enrichment teacher and classmates. Members have also expressed a desire to paint the bathroom stalls with inspiring words to give peers positive daily reminders. The MJH Student Council also plans on supporting school dances, a pumpkin carving activity, bake sales, spirit days, movie nights, field days, and other community events.

Advised by Jen Heitman-Laszlo, Administrative Secretary for Principal Matthew Bryan, the MJH Student Council boasts over ninety-seven student members. The group seeks to provide students an inclusive and supportive environment where they can have fun, build friendships, and create wonderful memories while making a positive difference in their school and community. On behalf of the MJH Student Council, thank you to everyone who generously supported the recent Car Wash Fundraiser! Congratulations once again to the members of the MJH Student Council for representing their school and community with Arc Pride!
