February 19, 2025 - The South Euclid-Lyndhurst Schools is pleased to announce the selection of James (Jamie) Vanek as the next Director of Human Resources, effective August 1, 2025, as approved by the Board of Education on Tuesday, February 18.
Mr. Vanek joins SEL Schools from Independence Local Schools, where he has served as the middle school principal since 2018. He has also previously served as an assistant principal for Avon Lake City Schools, and a teacher and head football coach for Parma City Schools.
“Jamie has a clear and strategic plan for strengthening our recruitment efforts, ensuring we continue to attract and retain top-quality employees in both certified and classified positions,” said Superintendent Dominick Kaple. “I am confident his leadership will not only sustain the strong foundation laid by Bill Miller but also guide us toward new opportunities for growth and excellence.”
Mr. Vanek received his Superintendent Certification from Ursuline College, a Master of Education in Administration from Ursuline College, a Master of Arts in Health and Education Promotion from Kent State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from Ohio Wesleyan University. He resides in North Royalton with his wife, Erin, and two daughters, Kinley and Mackenzie.
Mr. Vanek will replace Bill Miller, who announced his retirement on October 23, 2024, effective July 31, 2025.
