SEL fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, and other significant male caregivers of students in grades K-6 gathered bright and early on Thursday, September 22nd for the 17th Annual Fathers Walk event. Celebrating the critically important link between parental engagement in school and student success, Fathers Walk 2022 provided a meaningful opportunity for fathers and father figures to demonstrate their care and commitment to the students in their lives. Participating adults and students from Greenview Campus, as well as Rowland, Sunview and Adrian Elementary Schools gathered before the start of the school day to kick off the event with a short walk on the sidewalk areas around each school building. An assortment of baked treats and refreshments were also available for students and their guests to enjoy. The Fathers Walk event concluded with the annual tradition of each father and father-figure reciting the Fathers Walk pledge together. The pledge is a powerful demonstration of their commitment to support their child’s learning and to communicate the importance of doing their best in school.
