Cathy Stang Named Hometown Hero

The South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools proudly congratulates former teacher Cathy Stang on being named a Hometown Hero by One South Euclid, the community development corporation for the City of South Euclid. A lifelong South Euclid resident, Ms. Stang will be celebrated for her impact in the community and in the lives of students as a thirty-one-year educator in the SEL Schools. Before retiring at the end of the 2020-21 school year, Ms. Stang displayed her passion for promoting literacy and helping students learn by writing grants to obtain over 50,000 donated books valued at over $500,000 by creating an ongoing partnership with non-profit social enterprise, First Book. 

Ms. Stang will be recognized at One South Euclid’s annual fundraiser, Mingle at Mayfield, on Thursday, October 20th, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at The Mayfield Country Club, located at 1545 Sheridan Rd, South Euclid, OH 44121.
