Memorial Junior High School hosted a ceremony in the new gym on Thursday, January 26^th to recognize those students who demonstrated excellence in the areas of academics and school attendance during the second grading quarter. Academic award categories included Honor Roll (3.5-4.0 GPA) and Merit Roll (3.0-3.49 GPA). At the 7^th grade awards ceremony, fifty students achieved Honor Roll status, including eight who earned an impressive 4.0 GPA (all A’s), in addition to thirty-five students who attained Merit Roll status. During the 8^th grade awards ceremony, forty-one students made Honor Roll while forty-five received Merit Roll certificates. A total of twenty 7^th grade students and twenty-two 8^th grade students were recognized for achieving perfect attendance during the second quarter. 

Students were congratulated and handed a certificate by several MJH and district staff members, including Guidance Counselors Jennifer Kennicutt (8^th grade) and Kris Durkin (7^th grade), Assistant Principals Rob Atwood and Dave Capretta, and School Resource Officer Joe DiLillo. SEL Special Education Office members Amanda Morris and Jen Moles were also in attendance to provide encouragement and recognition.
