Brush College and Career Fair

Brush

Approximately five-hundred Brush High School students had the opportunity to explore future career and educational paths at the Brush High School College and Career Fair hosted in the Media Center on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. All juniors and seniors attended the event during their assigned English class time and were able to meet with representatives from thirty different post-secondary options, including colleges and universities, trade and technical schools, as well members of the United States Armed Forces. Participating organizations included Kent State University, Notre Dame College, Tri-C, University of Akron, Lincoln Electric, Hondros College, Ohio Technical College, Malone University, Bricklayers Local 5, and others.

Students found the conversations to be very helpful and were able to obtain additional information as they continue to consider their plans after graduation. Youth Development Specialists were on-hand to assist students as necessary with obtaining information. In addition, students also had the opportunity to meet with a College Now representative and begin the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) process.

The Brush College and Career Fair was a big success and the result of a collaborative effort between various teachers and staff members. Thank you to Eddie Hall, College & Career Pathways Coordinator; Carmela Campana, Building Secretary; and Youth Development Specialists for their efforts in planning and providing this impactful experience to help our students have successful futures!
