MJH Student Council Gives Thanks

MJH Student Council Gives Back

The SEL Schools gives a big-shout out to the Memorial Junior High School Student Council for taking the lead on several school-wide initiatives that demonstrated a spirit of gratitude and generosity this holiday season. The annual MJH Student Council Sock and Glove Donation Drive nearly doubled its initial goal by collecting 976 pairs of socks and gloves for the homeless! Thank you to the entire MJH school community for their support! Mr. Balcam’s homeroom class received a donut party for collecting the highest total number of socks with 361 pairs.

During the week of Thanksgiving, MJH Student Council members showed their appreciation for the entire staff, including teachers, administrators, security guards, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, and custodians, by creating handmade packages featuring the theme, ““Nuts about you cards and a package of nuts.” MJH staff were touched by the students’ gesture of appreciation.
MJH Student Council members also began preparations for their upcoming bake sales during school basketball games in December and January by making school spirit posters. During the soon to be announced games, students will be split into two groups, with one half selling a variety of baked goods, while the other half cheers on the ARCS to victory. Each group will switch at halftime to ensure everyone has an opportunity to participate in both activities.

Congratulations once again to the MJH Student Council for proudly representing their school and community with ARC pride!
