Teachers & Students Review Learning Growth

i Ready Chats at GMS

As part of an ongoing effort to help students achieve learning growth, SEL teachers have been conducting regular, one-on-one conversations with students to review their progress on the i-Ready diagnostic tests. Students take the i-Ready online diagnostic assessment in reading and math at scheduled times during the school year, and are assigned typical growth and stretch goals to help them achieve growth that meets their unique learning needs.

During recent “data chats” in Mrs. Bors’ 5th grade classroom at Greenview Middle School, students met individually with Mrs. Bors to review their winter i-Ready reading goals, including areas of growth and where they need to improve. Students also discussed their new goals for the spring with Mrs. Bors and wrote them down in their notebook to review regularly.

These regular conversations between students and their teachers are a major focus of the district’s Curriculum and Instruction team and are designed to support student learning and growth at all levels in the SEL Schools.
