Adrian 2nd Graders Celebrate Kindness

Second-grade students at Adrian Elementary recently participated in a special grade-level assembly that left them feeling energized and committed to spreading kindness in their classrooms. Led by K-3 Elementary School Counselor, Lindsey Cutler, the assembly took place on March 20th and featured a variety of interactive activities. After watching a video that showed how one act of kindness leads to another, the students discussed what kindness means to them and how to build their own classroom kindness chains. The students were inspired by the discussion and examples shared, and as a demonstration of their commitment to being a positive influence in their classrooms, the students recited a Kindness Pledge together and signed their name on brightly colored pieces of duct tape located on a wall-sized sign. During the remaining weeks of the school year, each second-grade class will commit to doing kind things for one another. For each act of kindness observed, classroom teachers will have students add a new link to their kindness chain. Whichever class has the longest chain at the end of the challenge will win a prize! Congratulations to our Adrian second graders as they seek to spread kindness and be a positive example in their classrooms and school!
